30 years ago, writer-producer Virginia Thompson and film-maker Robert de Lint founded Vérité Films to make their first series Incredible Story Studio. That series was a hit, renewed over 5 seasons, picked up by Disney, and led to Vérité creating and/or producing 8 subsequent award-winning series in the genres of comedy, drama, family, children’s and youth, documentary, and performing arts programming. 

Vérité is best known for producing Canada’s most popular comedy brand of all time, Corner Gas (a co-production with Brent Butt, David Storey’s 335 Productions) and distributing that series world-wide.

Today Vérité collaborates, elevates, and champions the next generation of storytellers in Canada and the world to produce their best work and have it seen and celebrated everywhere.

Each year, Vérité has the privilege of honouring Canada's most impactful performing artists as the producers of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Celebrations at the National Arts Centre, Canada’s stage.

Vérité is led and majority owned by executive producer and international distribution executive Virginia Thompson (a proud Red River Métis-settler mix and Citizen of the Manitoba Metis Federation). Co-founder Robert de Lint is SVP Creative. In-house producer Jeremy Prober is Director of Business Affairs, Strategy and Distribution. In-house writer-producer Karen Burrows manages Vérité brands and development. Chris Morris is Supervising Producer of Vérité Animation. Allan Ho is head of Vérité Finance and Accounting.
