Vérité Films is a boutique production company committed to stories from original and authentic voices.

Vérité Films is a majority female-owned and female-led production company and international distributor dedicated to elevating authentic voices into iconic brands. The content we champion is original and evergreen and evokes a positive impact on its audience. Over our 25 year history, we have developed, created, produced and distributed over 400 episodes of award-winning comedy, drama, children’s and youth, animation, and performing arts programming and use cutting edge digital engagement strategies to build and grow robust fan communities surrounding each of our brands. Our productions have won or been nominated for over 130 national and international awards, including an International Emmy, the Prix Jeunesse, and many Canadian Screen Awards. 

In the comedy space, we’re best known as the producers and distributors of Canada's most popular comedy brand of all time, Corner Gas (the original sitcom, movie, and animated series), in association with stand-up comedian Brent Butt.

In the children’s space, we’re best known for the animated musical adventure TV, book. and live performance brand Jeremy and Jazzy.

In the live performance space, we’ve best known as the producers of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Celebrations with Canada’s National Arts Centre (Canada’s Kennedy Centre Honors).  

In the international co-production space, we’re best known for Louise Lives Large (8 x 24 mins, Family Channel/ RTE/KETNET) with Ireland’s Tailored Films and Belgium’s StoryHouse Productions; and Be With Zee (52 x 5.5 mins, TVO/TFO/KNOWLEDGE/TVNZ) with New Zealand’s Oddly Quiet Productions and Media Tech Partners.

Our regular broadcast and platform partners include Disney, Amazon, Discovery, Nickelodeon, PBS, Bell Media, CBC, Corus, Global, TVO, Knowledge, Family Channel, TFO, APTN, RTÉ, KETNET, TV NewZealand, Samsung TV+ and YouTube.

Vérité mentors the next generation of producers and writers from under-represented communities in the media sector through volunteer work with Canada’s National Screen Institute, as well as one-on-one mentorships. We are currently working with Saskatchewan writer-director Lowell Dean and his producing partner Danielle Masters from Small Town Productions on the crime-comedy series Moose Jaw; and Akilah Newton, CEO of Big Dreamers Productions on the comedy series Doubles. In 2022, we were mentor Executive Producers/Producers in support of Aiza and Kamana Ntibarikure of Balling Y’all Productions on their first docu-talk show, Real Blackity Talk.
